Chapter News

Week-ending December 7, 2009

The Orlando Business Journal (OBJ) quoted Net Impact Orlando President Debbie Deland in the cover story of their Green Issue supplement 11/27/2009 with a picture.  More importantly, OBJ made the Kilowatt Crackdown Challenge the headline on the front page and the cover story using the Orlando Science Center as our showcase building.

We were also able to get OBJ to do a full color page article on the Central Florida LEEDership Award Winners 2009 presented at the USGBC-CF LEEDership Awards Dinner.

US Joint Forces Command asked Net Impact Orlando for copyright permission for the Chapter's launch white paper and slides presented by Debbie Deland at the Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Congress 2009 held at the Gaylord Palms Convention Center in Orlando the week of Ocotber 11, 2009.  Debbie Deland, President of Net Impact Orlando, was flattered to give immediate permission.

Net Impact Orlando participated with Orange County, FL on a table at "Th Florida Renewable Energy Expo" at the Orlando Science Center. We Introduced Net Impact Orlando (NIO) to many of the visitors and the Central Florida Kilowatt Crackdown Community Challenge. Expo visitors were excited to learn the community is taking on the goal to reduce Central Floridas energy use 30% by 2012. Several visitors were interested in taking the "Kilowatt Crackdown Challenge" for their building. Now our job is to get these buildings to build their profile in ESPM.
